The votes were tallied at the Annual Meeting, and congratulations to Lori Kuhn, Jon Pilon, and Gary Nimmerguth, who were all reelected to three-year terms.
Shortly after the elections were finalized, Lori decided to step off the board while intending to stay active in bringing fresh ideas and her time as a committee volunteer. With Lori's resignation, the board reached out to Celina Pepper to fill the position of Communications Chair, and she has graciously accepted. The board thanks Lori very much for her service over many years, and welcomes Celina!

Thank You, Ron Ross!!!
The Board would like to recognize Ron Ross, who has served on the board the last 11 years in the role of Maintenance Co-Chair. Ron's engineering background has proven to be a godsend to Ridgewood Hills, and we owe him a debt of gratitude. One of Ron's key accomplishments, among many, was securing a new snow contractor on very short notice when our prior contractor unexpectedly went out of business. Ron has also invested much sweat equity into various projects when trees needed trimming or a Gravel Outlet Filter needed clearing. He has been an active member of the board on all the issues and decisions made by the board for the benefit of the neighborhood, and we can't thank him enough for his contributions.

Amendments to RHSA Legal Documents History
In early July 2021, all homeowners should have received a mailing from our retained attorney's office outlining proposed changes to the RHSA legal documents. A tab dedicated to the amendments is shown at the top of this page.
Since the July meeting, the board gathered that feedback and has been dedicating a significant amount of time at its monthly board meetings to discuss and make possible updates and enhancements before sharing again with all residents. At the December 2021 meeting, the board concluded its review and returned the document with questions, comments, and suggested edits to the attorney's office for further review and recommendations before going back to residents for a vote of approval.
Trash and Recycle Bins - please remove from public view
It has come to our attention that some residents are not adequately shielding their trash and recycle bins from public view. We ask that you please be respectful of your neighbors and do as most homeowners do by storing such containers either in your garage or shielded by evergreens, per our deed restrictions. We appreciate your cooperation.
Use of Common Areas
Questions emerged last year concerning use of the common areas by residents. We have placed the rules of usage under our Ordinance tab, and a link to the file can also be downloaded here. Additionally, the Board decided at its June meeting to move forward to extend a pathway through the commons west of Hillcrest through the master plan entrance/exit point on Pinehill. That project was successfully completed over the Summer, and we hope you enjoy the new entrance.

Enhancements to Entranceways and AA Road/Ridge Completed
Many thanks to board members Bart Kreger, Ron Ross, Lori and Brent Kuhn (and a few residents who wish to remain nameless) who contributed to improvements made to the entranceways and also the corner of Ann Arbor and Ridge roads. New trees and seedlings were planted, mulch put down, and large boulders relocated. The investment of monetary capital was minimal, but the physical effort expended by the individuals above was significant. We appreciate the sweat equity put in to keep these projects affordable. We hope you agree the areas look great, and they will only improve over time as the trees grow. A consolidated list of Volunteer Efforts has been compiled and is now posted on the website. Click

Holiday Lights added to Entranceways at Ann Arbor
The entrances on Ann Arbor Road were only recently illuminated, thanks in large part to board members Bart Kreger and Ron Ross. For years, the Board has considered doing this project, but the cost estimates to deliver power to the signs had been deemed prohibitive. This time around, however, Bart and Ron worked closely with DTE Energy and a licensed electrical contractor to figure out a way to get this project done at 50% of past estimates. We hope you agree the illuminated signs make a tremendous addition to what was already a great place to live.
Repaving of Asphalt Roads Project Completed - Crack filling completed.
The project which began in August to reconstruct and repave the roads on the asphalt side of Ridgewood Hills was completed in late November of '13. Since then, the normal settling cracks have been filled, funded partially by Wayne County and Plymouth Township. We hope you agree the new roads have greatly improved the look and feel of Ridgewood Hills. We have also been told by realtors in the area this will improve our already strong home values.
New entrance monuments on Ridge Road
The Ridgewood Hills Homeowners Association extends a special THANK YOU to the families who agreed to have entrance monuments placed in the landscaping easement at the back of their properties. They are:
