Amendments to RHSA Legal Documents
In early July 2021, all homeowners should have received a mailing from our retained attorney's office outlining proposed changes to the RHSA legal documents. A tab dedicated to the amendments is shown at the top of this page.
Since the July meeting, the board gathered that feedback and has been dedicating the majority of time at its monthly board meetings to discuss and make possible updates and enhancements before sharing again with all residents. At the December 2021 meeting, the board concluded its review and returned the document with questions, comments, and suggested edits to the attorney's office for further review and recommendations before going back to residents for a vote of approval at a future date to be determined.
Trash and Recycle Bins - please remove from public view
It has come to our attention that some residents are not adequately shielding their trash and recycle bins from public view. We ask that you please be respectful of your neighbors and do as most homeowners do by storing such containers either in your garage or shielded by evergreens, per our deed restrictions. We appreciate your cooperation.
Snow Season - thank you for your efforts!
While the number of plowable snow events is generally between five and ten per winter season, we appreciate everyones' efforts to move cars off the streets and promptly clear their sidewalks within 24 hours, per the Township ordinance. We also greatly appreciate those who help out clear the snow of nearby neighbors and also the sidewalks which border the common areas. Your work has not gone unnoticed, and we thank you.
Use of Common Areas
Questions emerged last year concerning use of the common areas by residents. We have placed the rules of usage under our Ordinance tab, and a link to the file can also be downloaded here. Additionally, the Board decided at its June meeting to move forward to extend a pathway through the commons west of Hillcrest through the master plan entrance/exit point on Pinehill. That project was successfully completed over the Summer, and we hope you enjoy the new entrance.
Election Results - 2021-22 Board of Directors
Election results for the 2021-22 Board have been tabulated, and three incumbents were reelected. They are Lori Kuhn, Jon Pilon, and Gary Nimmerguth. We also received several write-in votes for candidates, but not enough to surpass those on the official ballot, but we hope they will consider formally running for the board in the next year, as we are always looking for new ideas and participation from all corners of the neighborhood. Thanks to all who voted, and our reelected board members.
Older News:
Entrance Signs installed for Powell and Hillcrest
During the September 2020 Board Meeting, the board approved new entrance signs to be put in at the entrance to the subdivision off of Powell Road. Those signs were installed in late September.

The Township has appointed Dan Adkins to the position of Ordinance officer. He can help enforce Township Ordinance issues - his phone number is (734) 354-3205. Special Assessment District 2.0 (Concrete repairs completed - 2018)
Concrete roads (west side of Hillcrest) work began in September and was mostly completed by November. Sealing of joints and cracks will continue to be monitored, and part of the budget has been set aside to seal such cracks in the on an ongoing basis. Bids have been sought from independent contractors on this work.
Enhancements to Entranceways and AA Road/Ridge Completed
Many thanks to board members Bart Kreger, Ron Ross, Lori and Brent Kuhn (and a few residents who wish to remain nameless) who contributed to improvements made to the entranceways and also the corner of Ann Arbor and Ridge roads. New trees and seedlings were planted, mulch put down, and large boulders relocated. The investment of monetary capital was minimal, but the physical effort expended by the individuals above was significant. We appreciate the sweat equity put in to keep these projects affordable. We hope you agree the areas look great, and they will only improve over time as the trees grow. A consolidated list of Volunteer Efforts has been compiled and is now posted on the website. Click

Holiday Lights added to Entranceways at Ann Arbor
The entrances on Ann Arbor Road were only recently illuminated, thanks in large part to board members Bart Kreger and Ron Ross. For years, the Board has considered doing this project, but the cost estimates to deliver power to the signs had been deemed prohibitive. This time around, however, Bart and Ron worked closely with DTE Energy and a licensed electrical contractor to figure out a way to get this project done at 50% of past estimates. We hope you agree the illuminated signs make a tremendous addition to what was already a great place to live.
Repaving of Asphalt Roads Project Completed - Crack filling completed.
The project which began in August to reconstruct and repave the roads on the asphalt side of Ridgewood Hills was completed in late November of '13. Since then, the normal settling cracks have been filled, funded partially by Wayne County and Plymouth Township. We hope you agree the new roads have greatly improved the look and feel of Ridgewood Hills. We have also been told by realtors in the area this will improve our already strong home values.
New entrance monuments on Ridge Road
The Ridgewood Hills Homeowners Association extends a special THANK YOU to the families who agreed to have entrance monuments placed in the landscaping easement at the back of their properties. They are:
Chris Williams Family
V. V. Baht Family
Gary Moszynski Family
Michael Flanagan Family
Each of these families enthusiastically embraced this project from the outset, and they deserve our collective “thanks” for their support. We have received many compliments since the monuments were installed, with most saying they offer a substantial improvement to our living environment.
